Sun-sun Review Blog

Recently, since I have been posting review-focused information, I have been sharing my other small projects and development-related tips on this WordPress blog, but I am still actively operating my Naver Blog. (The bane of my existence.. Naver Blog)

I have been using Naver Blog for quite a long time (almost 13 years ago?).

However, a rather interesting notice was posted recently.

Now, the point is that the Naver Blog address is changing again.
Already, Naver Blog caused great confusion to blog service users like me when it reorganized its address in the past.

It has been announced that you can now operate a blog using a newly created blog ID, rather than a blog address using your Naver ID.

As shown below, since the URLs are all changing, it's causing quite a bit of confusion...

I'm worried that the existing connected URL addresses will also change completely... Of course, it's not mandatory, and the guidance states that you can choose not to change them and just use them as is? (It seems it's not a forced requirement...)

Of course, being able to use an address of my choice is welcome, even if it's not just linked to my Naver ID. .I'm curious why the address system is being changed again...

Upon reviewing the content, according to the notice, the Naver ID is easily exposed through the blog address, making it convenient for illegal spam emails and promotions to collect information. It seems this is to prevent advertisements being provided to that email address.

In other words, in order to help users who have suffered from spam emails by using their Naver ID as their blog address, it is seen as an intention to create new blog IDs that can act as separate proxies to reduce spam emails and promotional issues.

Although the change button has not yet been released. (It is said that the button will be activated after October 12, 2022)
When the button is released as shown below, it is said that the (Change) button will be activated on the right side of the Blog Address Information in Blog Settings, allowing for changes.

If you have plans to change your Naver Blog address or are interested, please read the above notice carefully and prepare to secure your desired ID in advance on October 12, 2022.

Personally, I have used Naver Blog for a long time, and since I started using WordPress around the end of last year, I realized that the excellent SEO and usability provided by Naver's blog service were indeed very good.

I'm not sure what kind of butterfly effect this change will bring, but it seems like it will be an opportunity to change the ID related to soonsoon, rather than progagmer.
